　　The Comptroller's Department is looking for an intern to join their Accounts Payable team!

　　About the Comptroller's Department

　　As a reporting Department to the Chief Financial Officer, the Comptroller's Department is a team of dedicated professionals who ensure the accuracy of the Port Authority's finances. As part of the Comptroller's Department team, you will gain insight and experience surrounding the agency's financial structure and internal control processes as well as knowledge of the operations of our various lines of business, giving you extensive opportunities for a long-term career at the Port Authority.

　　Under the Corporate Accounting section of the Department, the Accounts Payable Division processes and pays agency obligations for all business-related expenditures in an accurate and timely manner and ensures that all payments are issued in compliance with all agency policies and procedures.

　　Responsibilities:

　　City Payments and other schedule preparationTasks related to:Operating expenses and variance monitoringInvoice, payments analysis, and the monthly closing processBusiness Travel & SAP Travel ManagementCiti Payment Exchange Project and associated enrollment of existing and new vendors for ACH PaymentsElectronic Invoicing ProjectAgency Vendor Management Project including continued cleanup of the Vendor Master FileGR-IR, SE and PR Report analyses and other divisional assignments

　　Qualifications:

　　Enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program through the Fall 2024 semester (August 2024 or beyond)Experience with Microsoft apps such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, etc.Excellent written and oral communication skillsInterest in contributing to the success of the New York and New Jersey regionInterest in public service and/or transportationWillingness to learn

　　Internship Details:

　　The start date will be Thursday, May 30 with an orientation that will take place at 4 World Trade Center in Lower ManhattanThe internship will last 12 weeks, ending on Friday, August 23This is a full-time internship (generally 5 days per week at 7.25 hours of work per day plus a 45-minute break)The format is expected to be hybrid, partially virtual and partially in-person at 2 Montgomery Street in Jersey City, NJThe hourly salary range is $17.20 to $28.85 (the hourly salary is determined by internship type and school year)These details are subject to change

　　About PATH:

　　The Port Authority Trans Hudson Corporation (PATH), an FRA-regulated commuter railroad, is the primary transit link between Manhattan and New Jersey communities and suburban commuter railroads. Carrying over 75 million passengers per year, PATH trains run 24 hours a day, seven days a week, one of the few 24-hour systems in the world. Since the early 20th Century, PATH and its predecessor, the Hudson & Manhattan Railroad, have carried passengers between New Jersey and points in Midtown and Lower Manhattan, serving as a key link in the region's transportation network and as a catalyst for continued residential, commercial and employment growth.

　　PATH operates 24 hours per day/7 days per week/365 days per year. Employees are required to work weekends, holidays, atypical hours (evening and midnight shifts) and during inclement weather conditions. Incumbents may be subjected to mandatory overtime at the beginning or end of their scheduled tour, or on their days off. A union seniority system dictates work schedules for jobs represented by one of PATH's unions, and time off may not be immediately available during the usual summer and holiday periods. Working conditions will be challenging, including but not limited to inclement weather, direct contact with the public, in tunnel and outside areas during active train service, and an industrial environment. Commitment to attendance is expected and required.
