  JOB SUMMARY

  As a Summer COBOL Developer intern for our IBM ERP Service Delivery Team, you will will assist in the designing, writing, and changing COBOL programs and JCL. You will get insights into the breadth and scope of maintaining automated business processes in a global company. The right candidate must be comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders and functional teams. The right candidate will have a passion for learning, solving problems, and working through very complex programs. An interest in IBM business technology and tools will be ideal.

  Job Responsibilities

  · Adept at quickly acquiring software and programming skills

  · Changing COBOL programs to meet requirements

  · Investigating programming/data defects and investigate root cause

  · Understand defect resolutions and document solutions

  · Working knowledge of COBOL is required – prefer two semesters

  · Understanding of hierarchical databases

  · Understanding of relational databases & SQL

  · Understanding of file processing

  · MS Office skills

  · Strong problem solving aptitude is helpful

  · Strong business aptitude is helpful

  · Great curiosity, high enthusiasm, integrity, ingenuity, results-orientation, self-motivation, and resourcefulness in a fast-paced competitive environment

  STRENGTHS OF A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE

  Able to complete an internship in the summer (May/June-August 2024)

  Must be geographically flexible to relocate to ADM sites

  Pursuing a four-year degree in CIS or a related field with an emphasis on programming

  Anticipated graduation between December 2024 and Summer 2026

  Preferred GPA of 2.8 or greater

  Knowledge of Microsoft Office software

  Ability to function effectively, both independently and with a team

  Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to collaborate within various levels of an organization

  ADM requires the successful completion of a background check.

  INTERNSHIP DETAILS

  Internships are 10-12 weeks in duration

  Erlanger, KY

  Interns are responsible for transportation to and from work

  Interns who demonstrate high potential and engagement may be offered another internship if still pursuing a degree, or a full-time position after graduation

  ADM requires the successful completion of a background check.
