  Duties, Responsibilities & Other

  DutiesTarget candidate may be required to operate and maintain a vacuum excavation truck and related equipment safely and efficientlyPossess the ability to designate/locate a variety of underground utilities, create legible field sketches, simple mathematics, field measurements, document daily activities, and perform records research. Perform other duties as assignedRegular out-of-town travel should be expected as part of this positionExperienceThis position is similar to a utility locator or utility designator and requires minimum of 2 - 4 years of utility locating or designating using many types of pipe and cable locating devicesExperience with Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) is preferredUnderstanding basic traffic control and the hazards associated with working in and around traffic and follow safety precautionsGround Penetrating Radar (GPR), Surveying, CADD, and vacuum excavation truck experience a plus.SkillsAbility to follow instructions, possess the ability to be trained, mentored and have a positive can-do attitude are necessitiesMust possess leadership and mentoring skills.Have a basic knowledge of various underground utilities and able to identify surface features associated with various utilitiesAbility to perform some equipment maintenance tasks a plusMechanical aptitude is desiredDegrees / LicensesHigh School Diploma is required.A valid current driver's license and have the ability to obtain a Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical card for Commercial Motor Vehicle operation is requiredCurrent Commercial Driver's License is a plusNULCA or other certification is a plus

  Qualifications

  High School Diploma or GED.Minimum of 2 - 4 years of experience.Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment. Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.

  Participate in cross - training as requested to build a stronger teamCommunicate your work flow needs to your team and to your supervisorAccurately records and reports daily forms per project requirementsCommunicates effectively with client, contractor, staff, and supe visorProactively resolves problems at the lowest levelAdheres to project scope, schedule, and budgetReviews all work for completeness and accuracy prior to submittingSubmits accurate time sheets, mileage and expense reports on time each weekReviews jobsite safety daily and takes immediate action to document and resolve issuesUnderstands OSHA Safety Standards and KCI corporate policies and follows them at all timesAccurately record and report your work each day on the forms providedInspect and correct your own work before turning it inPerform all task assignments using required industry standards
