We are known for our dedication to industry-leading client service and tailored solutions.Kennedy Jenks is seeking an experienced Building Mechanical Engineer to support projects across the country and work out of one of our many KJ offices. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with experience in HVAC, plumbing, renewable energy and sustainability. You will work in a collegial and supportive team-based environment on projects from initial planning stages through design and construction completion.Key Responsibilities:Develop HVAC, fire protection and plumbing concepts during planning stages.Prepare calculations, design drawings and technical specifications to meet project objectives.Prepare opinions of probable costs.Collaborate with Kennedy Jenks' project managers, structural, architectural, electrical, controls and CAD teams.Present system design to clients as needed.Support with construction administration including reviewing contractor's submittals, RFIs and change orders.Assist with system start-ups as needed.Qualifications:Five years of related design experienceBS in Mechanical Engineering requiredProfessional Engineer (PE) strongly preferred, or ability to obtain PE within 1 yearPrior experience with condition assessment of HVAC systems highly desiredPrior design experience with facilities infrastructure projects (potable water, stormwater, wastewater), power generation (biogas, diesel, LPG, natural gas), boilers, standby generators, plumbing and HVAC for commercial and industrial buildings, and fire protection systems is preferredOpenPlant, AecoSim or Revit experienced a plusKennedy Jenks supports a healthy work-life balance and utilizes a hybrid model of home and office work to empower our people to thrive and achieve their full potential.Work Locations: Portland, OR * Federal Way, WA * Denver, CO * Tampa, FL * Dallas, TX * Honolulu, HI * Dallas/Fort Worth, TX * Austin, TX * CaliforniaSalary range for this position is anticipated to be$95,000 - $135,000and may vary based upon education, experience, qualifications, skills, licensure/certifications, seniority, and geographic location.Benefits summary: Medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401k, bonus opportunities, tuition reimbursement, professional registration support, a competitive PTO and holiday plan, and other benefits and programs.As an employee-owned firm, Kennedy Jenks offers a unique company culture with a corporate commitment to maintaining a positive work/life experience with a flexible hybrid work environment.
