　　Summary

　　Performs and directs substation maintenance work, operates, inspects and repairs substation and substation equipment

　　Principal Duties and Responsibilities

　　Assembles, installs, operates, inspects, adjusts, and repairs portable and permanent substation equipment

　　Performs electrical switching.

　　Work on energized equipment.

　　Performs work on energized equipment in the maintenance of substations, such as, cleaning insulators and coating insulators.

　　Takes reasonable care of Company tools and equipment that are assigned to them.

　　Keeps assigned equipment and work areas in a clean and orderly condition.

　　Reports irregularities and abnormal conditions.

　　Directs and instruct employees assigned to work with them.

　　Assists in training of other employees.

　　Performs similar or less skilled work in this classification or, when the diversity of work load requires, perform similar or less skilled work in equal or lower classifications

　　Performs duties in accordance with the Company's safety rules and operating regulations and practices.

　　Completes any reports and forms used in connection with the performance of duties.

　　Required Qualifications for Position

　　Four years experience as an Apprentice Substation Electrician, or the equivalent.

　　Satisfactorily completed the Apprentice Substation Electrician Progression Steps, or the equivalent.

　　Attended and satisfactorily completed the Apprentice Substation Electrician Training Courses provided by the Company.

　　Satisfactorily performed the duties of Apprentice Substation Electrician or the equivalent.

　　Thorough working knowledge of the electrical system, voltages, and substation operations and equipment.

　　Thorough working knowledge of the use of wiring diagrams.

　　Working knowledge of relays and electronic controls.

　　Thorough working knowledge of motors, generators, and rectifiers.

　　Able to perform, instruct, direct and advise others in the performance of all types of substation work.

　　Valid Commercial Driver’s License.
