Description:
The Student Support Specialist will provide administrative support to the Executive Assistant
to the Vice Chancellor for Business and Finance as well as programming support to the Division
of Business and Finance. This position supports the EA in management of the Dowdy Information Desk by directing the daily workflow of students by assigning tasks and training them on work methods, policies, and practices. The candidate provides feedback to the EA and Vice Chancellor on student grades, course advisement, scholarship funding requests. Coordinates payroll for students with the Payroll Office. Performs needs assessments and identifies strengths and weaknesses for the Dowdy Information Desk while making recommendations to address shortcomings or leverage strengths. The candidate will be expected to understand and apply federal, state and university policies and procedures and must also possess an advanced knowledge of the Student BANNER system.

In addition, the Chief Business Officer works in partnership with the Division of Human Resources which provides comprehensive programs and consultative services to support the recruitment and retention of high performing faculty and staff at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University(NC A&T); as well as , develops an interdisciplinary workforce and inclusive work culture to effectively align with the University’s mission, vision and values

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
