The UMA Ellsworth Center is seeking qualified applicants for a Student Services Coordinator to join our dynamic team and make a difference in the lives of UMA students! We are seeking a motivated and dedicated individual to contribute to the success of our students and the overall growth of our institution.
The Student Services Coordinator plays a pivotal role in providing comprehensive support to both prospective and enrolled students, ensuring their academic success and personal development. This position involves a combination of on-site and online services, including pre-admission counseling, academic advising, career coaching, crisis intervention, and leadership development. Travel is required to various locations, including UMA campuses, sites, and statewide.

We will take into consideration the salary of current UMS employees for transfer/promotion. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with evenings and weekends as necessary. Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Computer proficiency, especially with Microsoft Suite, and the ability to learn new software and technologies
Ability to advise students on the complex requirements of academic programs, course substitutions, transfer equivalencies, and challenge exams
Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Basic understanding of the Americans with Disabilities Act
Ability to manage multiple work priorities
Crisis intervention skills and the ability to make referrals
Knowledge and use of social media for the delivery of student services, and experience with computer-assisted instruction
Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree in counseling, adult education, or a closely related field
Candidates with a bachelor’s degree in a closely related field and three or more years of experience in student services in higher education will be considered
Experience working with a diverse student body, the understanding of student needs, and the application of best practices and student development theory
Proven exceptional academic advising/coaching and career counseling skills
Proven ability to design, market, and present workshops/seminars on a variety of topics relevant to the college student experience
Demonstrated experience referring to and using the broad resources of a community to better serve students
Licenses/Certifications: N/A
Desired Qualifications:
Experience with distance technology, pedagogy, and the support service needs of distance students
Experience working with faculty to deliver student programs and student support services
