Description:
As a Project (Structural) Engineer, any relevant experience you have will influence the project assignments assigned to you. You will be exposed to a range of tasks in the field of civil/structural engineering in support of process and manufacturing projects (large focus in oil/gas.) Experience in industrial plant structures is a plus. Experience with foundation design and structural steel design and detailing are the primary focus of design for the structural projects including grading drainage, storm water collection, and access roads. • Work closely with and assist other engineering disciplines in support of projects • Collaborate and direct as necessary drafting and design of structures • Expand, maintain, and utilize a working knowledge of shallow and deep foundation types, general framing and building systems, plan preparation, construction considerations, and building codes Typical plant and terminal structures include shallow, mat, and deep foundations for equipment such as pumps and vessels; steel structures such as pipe supports, multi-story towers and bridges; marine structures such as docks, dolphins and seawalls; and occupied and non-occupied buildings both prefabricated and stick-built. Building structural evaluations, retrofits, and new construction are becoming more common parts of our work and experience in this area is strongly desired. • On-site work including damage assessment and construction field observation • Understand and implement practical application of structural engineering standards • Manage structural engineering projects • Ability to travel approximately no more than a 2-3 day period about once every 2-3 months at most.
