  Job DescriptionPosition Title: Strength and Conditioning CoachDepartment: Athletic Departments/Student and Family ServicesReports To: Activities DirectorsCompensation: Commensurate with education and experienceCalendar: 261 DaysSUMMARYResponsible for developing, monitoring, providing instructional coaching and supporting the strength and conditioningprogram. Needs to be knowledgeable on lifting and conditioning fundamentals and have the ability to work with headcoaches and a variety of students with different abilities.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESEssential duties must be performed on site. Other duties or tasks may be assigned* Collaborates with staff from the district secondary schools.* Reports to work as scheduled on a regular and reliable basis.* Provides and demonstrates best practices in instruction for the weight room.* Works strategically with head coaches in developing, planning, monitoring and assessing student weight trainingworkouts and the weight training program.* Conducts goal setting with student-athletes, including constructive feedback throughout the year.* Assists the activities director in developing and implementing a plan for student/athlete accountability.* Collects data to track and measure progress of student-athletes.* Promotes the strength program through a variety of methods including social media.* Completes paperwork accurately and in a timely fashion.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES* This position does not supervise other employees.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSTo perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to effectively use teaching and learning strategies thatinclude consideration of each student's learning styles, needs, and background.Demonstrated ability to maintain apositive, collaborative relationship with colleagues and administration.Demonstrated ability to maintain a positiveenvironment in the classroom while achieving order and discipline. Demonstrated professionalism and commitment toexcellence. Able to model effective classroom practices. Ability to write and speak in a logical and understandable style,using appropriate grammar and sentence structure, and a demonstrated command of standard English, enunciation,clarity of oral directions, and pace and precision in speaking.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfullyperform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly requiredto verbally communicate and acknowledge communications from others. The employee must be able to demonstrate and teach correct lifting procedures with weights.
