Position Summary
The Strategy Program Manager develops and coordinates implementation of the organization’s strategic plan. The position works with senior leaders to develop and update the strategic plan annually, ensure strategic activities are aligned and coordinated across the business and report regularly on progress towards key performance metrics.
Responsibilities
• Lead, with senior leadership, development of the organization’s long-term and annual strategic plans including through Board of Directors approval.
• Advise and consult with business owners in development of business plans that deliver on strategic objectives so that strategy and goals are properly defined before project initiation begins through the Project Management Office (PMO). • Design, implement and manage processes for monitoring strategic plan progress including performance against key performance metrics.
• Prepare monthly strategic reporting dashboards for both internal and external reporting.
• Manage the monthly strategic reporting process including reviewing and challenging business owners’ reporting for alignment with strategic direction, appropriate reporting of progress and complete risk identification and mitigation.
• Assess the organization’s success against the approved performance rating matrix and prepare external reporting for the Board of Directors.
• Partner closely with the PMO to ensure the portfolio of projects supports realization of the strategic vision of the organization and aligns to the prioritization within the annual strategic plan.
• Partner with the Risk Management and Internal Audit functions to ensure risks are appropriately identified, understood, and mitigated. • Partner with Communications and Human Resources to ensure organizational metrics are appropriately communicated to staff and cascaded through the employee performance management processes.
• Lead annual strategic planning to support timely approval of projects and alignment with annual budgeting to ensure sufficient resourcing.
• Identify and advise on improvement opportunities (people, processes, and technology of the organization) to best position the organization for success against its short- and long-term goals.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications
• Experience executing strategic planning methods.
• Ability to advise business owners on development of new and innovative plans and how to implement efficiently and effectively.
Education and Work Experience
• Bachelor’s degree
• 8+ years of program management experience
• Minimum 4 years of strategic planning experience
Physical and Mental Demands
• Ability to travel up to 10% of time, may also include overnight and international travel.
• Work normal business hours and extended hours when necessary.
• Remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting, for prolonged periods.
• Regular use of office equipment such as a computer/laptop and monitor computer screens.
