  Job Description

  The Manager, Strategic Marketing will be an integral member of the GI Business Unit and the Strategy & Business Planning team. They will lead and support strategic marketing initiatives and serve as a subject matter expert in GI diseases, procedures, and technologies. They will support the prioritization and achievement of business objectives, analysis of market & technology trends and competitor activities, and evaluation of opportunities for growth.

  The individual will partner within teams, the business unit and with functions across the global organization to achieve growth objectives, facilitate strategy implementation, support strategic planning, track, measure, and de-risk business performance, while ensuring a long-term business view. They will apply a strong data-driven approach to their work and leverage information and insights to ensure informed decision-making.

  The right candidate will have strong agility to successfully pivot between the various responsibilities required of this role and will be comfortable working with global colleagues and across time zones. They will also be a strong communicator (oral, written, presentation).

  Job Duties

  Lead, collaborate or support on assigned initiatives (for example, strategy refinement, disease evaluations, strategic reviews, opportunity assessments, etc.)

  Understand markets, customers, competitors and solutions through intelligence gathering, primary/secondary market research, healthcare professional engagement, competitor monitoring, etc.

  Leverages data and analytics to develop business cases, market models, conduct financial planning & evaluation, and ROI analysis

  Track, report and drive the achievement of key priorities, identify potential risks, and implement risk mitigation strategies

  Collaborate with strategic marketing team members to jointly achieve strategic initiatives, optimize approaches, gain efficiencies, and provide support where needed

  Collaborate with business planning team members to support strategic business planning process, management reporting, forecasting & budgeting

  Support early-stage marketing, product marketing and commercialization teams on their key initiatives as needed

  Partner with functional partners (e.g., global market intelligence, health economics, finance, R&D, medical, etc.) and regional sales & marketing teams to drive achievement of business objectives

  “Can-do” attitude to support other essential related duties and cross-BU/divisional initiatives, as required

  Job Qualifications

  Required:

  Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, marketing, healthcare or related field is required. MBA or other graduate-level degree is strongly preferred.

  Minimum of 3-5 years of business experience within FDA regulated healthcare/medical devices/ diagnostics industries or in healthcare consultancy, with corresponding business experience.

  Ability to travel up to 25% domestically and international.

  Preferred:

  Gastroenterology and/or GI endoscopy experience strongly preferred

  Global marketing experience strongly preferred

  The anticipated base pay range for this full-time position working at this location is $102,246.00 - $143,143.00 / year, plus potential for annual bonus (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements). Olympus considers a variety of factors when determining actual compensation for this position including: level of experience, working location, and relevant education and certifications.
