JOB REQUIREMENTS

　　Education

　　Must be able to write and do simple arithmetic, ability to follow oral and written instructions and work with limited supervision. Mechanical aptitude helpful. Must have a high school diploma or GED.

　　Experience

　　Previous experience helpful. An inexperienced worker will need three to five days of instructions and at least 30 days on-the-job training under the direction of the Assistant Director to perform satisfactorily.

　　Physical

　　Normal hospital environment. Normal/corrected eyesight. Hearing within normal range. Frequent exposure to dust and fumes. Exposure to chemical, electrical and mechanical hazards, blood and body fluids. Operates floor machines, battery operated and electrical equipment including: vacuum cleaner, buffer, scrubber, and wet vacuum. Continuous walking and standing. Lifting up to 40 pounds, carrying up to 40 pounds and pushing/pulling up to 60 pounds.

　　JOB SUMMARY

　　1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts available. Principal duties involve cleaning and disinfecting all areas including: patient rooms, utility rooms, ancillary areas, public areas, restrooms and offices; trash and refuse removal and proper disposal of infectious and non-infections waste; daily floor care maintenance including: dust and wet mopping, buffing, striping and refinishing hard floors, vacuuming, shampooing and extracting carpet; wall washing; high and low dusting; furniture, blind and window cleaning.
