DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs a State park Intern, you will gain experience in conducting boat inspections to create awareness of aquatic invasive species. You will work in Pymatuning State Park to become familiar with aquatic invasive species and set up at specified boat launch areas to address boaters by public speaking and education. In addition, you will learn processes used to maintain park facilities, assist in grounds keeping, servicing trails and removing invasive plant species, and participate in a variety of opportunities for learning experiences such as trainings, inspections, and special events.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time internship lasting from 5/01/2024 through 8/30/2024.Student may work nights and weekends, not to exceed 37.5 hours a week.Typical hours 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM.Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. QUALIFICATIONSInternship Requirements:Current full-time enrollment in a two-year degree, bachelor's degree or advanced degree program in one of the following acceptable majors:Resource ManagementBiologyEnvironmental Science/StudiesAn approved major course which includes a qualifying 24 credit hours of study in the physical, biological and environmental sciences may be acceptable.Freshman year completedGood academic standing (2.0 GPA or higher)Pennsylvania residency or enrollment at a Pennsylvania college or university
Additional Requirements:This position requires possession of a valid Class C non-commercial driver's license.You must be able to perform essential job functions.
