DESCRIPTION OF WORKThis position offers a unique opportunity for the selected candidate to increase skills in public relations in a State Park by conducting boat inspections and collecting data to create awareness of aquatic invasive species (AIS) as a focus project in addition to utilizing a global positioning system (GPS) to collect valuable park attribute data for a comprehensive Bureau initiative. The selected candidate will also gain valuable State Park experience with a wide range of involvement with different staff positions to become familiar with park operations such as with environmental education, maintenance, and volunteers to develop valuable skillsets.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 37.5 hours a week.The employment period will occur between the dates of 5/1/24 - 8/30/24.Typical work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Wednesday-Sunday (Monday/Tuesday off) with a 30-minute lunch.Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONSInternship Requirements:Current full-time enrollment in a bachelor's degree or advanced degree program in one of the following acceptable Majors:Park and RecreationEnvironmental Science/Environmental EducationWildlife Technology/Wildlife Management/Biology Related FieldsAn approved major course which includes a qualifying 24 credit hours of study in the physical, biological and environmental sciences may be acceptable.Freshman year completedGood academic standing (2.0 GPA or higher)Pennsylvania residency or enrollment at a Pennsylvania college or university
Additional Requirements:This position requires possession of a valid Class C non-commercial driver's license.You must be able to perform essential job functions.
