　　JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

　　The Penn State Psychological Clinic (https://psych.la.psu.edu/psychological-clinic/) , a fully licensed comprehensive outpatient community mental health center, is seeking applicants for a full-time Staff Therapist for adult and/or child and adolescent psychological services. 　　The Psychological Clinic provides psychological and psychiatric outpatient treatment and psychological and neuropsychological assessment for adults, families, adolescents, and children, as well as school- and community-based intervention programs.

　　The clinic is among the largest associated with a doctoral training program in the United States and serves as the training and research site for the Ph.D. program in Clinical Psychology.

　　The Staff Therapist will focus on clinical work with adults and/or children and adolescents with the following responsibilities:

　　Provide individual and group psychotherapy for a broad range of clinical disorders in both short- and long-term treatment formats

　　Provide initial consultation and diagnostic assessment for clients with a wide range of mental health, behavioral, emotional, and developmental concerns

　　Provide behavioral health and case management services

　　Other primary responsibilities include collaborating with staff and other professionals to provide the best care possible for Clinic clients, completing all necessary clinical documentation in an accurate and timely manner, and performing all services according to relevant ethical and professional standards of care.

　　Education and Experience: This position typically requires a Master’s degree or higher in Social Work or a related discipline (preferably in mental health) and three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Applicants must be a licensed Clinical Social Worker or licensed Professional Counselor.

　　In addition, successful candidates must either have demonstrated a commitment to building an inclusive, equitable, and diverse campus community, or describe one or more ways they would envision doing so, given the opportunity.

　　The start date for this position is as soon as possible, but applicants who will not complete their Master’s degree and/or receive the above licensures until later in Spring 2024 will also be considered.

　　Additional Information:

　　This is a limited-term position, funded for one year from date of hire, with an excellent possibility of re-funding.
