　　The Job

　　CNN is building its next generation CMS platform that is built from the ground up to be cloud native. The project spans the breadth of engineering disciplines from tuning globally available databases to immersive front-end user experiences.

　　The CMS will be used to power all of CNN's journalism around the world as well as all a hub for new products.

　　We are looking for engineers who are comfortable across the stack and interested in solving unique and challenging problems.

　　The Daily

　　Contribute to the architecture and implementation of CNN Digital's cloud infrastructure using Cloudformation and Terraform.Develop and enhance our existing Bash scripts used for deployments and local developmentMaintain Production and Lower environment infrastructure such as applying security patches and upgrading services.Maintain and develop our CI/CD infrastructure in AWS codebuild & codepipeline.Work primarily in AWS services such as RDS Aurora Postgres, Opensearch, ECS, SQS and ElasticCache Redis.Contribute to the code & architecture reviews and champion best practices for the organization by defining and evolving engineering standards.Stay abreast with industry trends and announcements. Understand how changes can impact our business and raise concerns and/or propose solutions to mitigate.Code! Be passionate about software engineering with a strong sense of ownership for the code that you and your team write.Follow a progressive development methodology, moving from proofs of concept to prototypes to production releases.

　　BS degree in Computer Science or relevant work experience with 8+ years of relevant experienceProven record of driving initiatives which involve changes in the engineering culture through evangelism and structured processesAbility to review company goals and lead towards success, through discussion with engineering peers, proposals, and ultimately breaking down the solution into meaningful tasks to execute or delegate to the teamDeep industry experience with modern development technologies, and hands-on familiarity with both client and server technology. Have a solid understanding of common software data structures and algorithmsA passion to grow professionally and continue developing along an individual contributor path
