Description If you're an experienced accountant with a knack for accuracy, Robert Half has a terrific opportunity for you to check out. The responsibilities of the Staff Accountant include preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, many aspects of internal reporting will be your responsibility. This position will also require you to participate in compliance, as well as communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. The majority of time spent in this position involves producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. This multi-faceted, challenging long-term contract / temporary opportunity is at a Richardson, Texas based company where effort is rewarded and the environment is thriving.
Your responsibilities
Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Maintain intricate journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Complete month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Participate in various department-wide initiatives
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
Create monthly statement analysis to be used for management reportings
Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Report on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner Requirements - Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
Knowledgeable of ERP systems
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines
Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Knowledge of general ledger
Solid understanding of Microsoft Excel
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
