They provide nostalgia, Christmas Cheer, and a source of revenue that allows it to do ministry throughout the year.Functions of the PositionMake sure kettle stands and collection buckets are placed at designated stores. Make sure each scheduled site is "manned" appropriately with the "right" person. Monitor each site to ensure the Bell Ringer is following best practices, Army policies, store directives, and effective use of time.Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide oversight of Bell Ringers and their work at store sitesDistribute and retrieve kettle related equipment and suppliesGive feedback to the kettle coordinator and/or officer regarding Bell Ringer activityCoach Bell Ringers to follow best practices to achieve optimum resultsObserve Bell Ringers quietly from a distance to determine how they perform when "unsupervised"Pick up bucket at end of Bell Ringer shift and return it to corps for counting as the designated timeTrack kettle equipmentMaintain kettle supplies in order and ready for the next shiftHelp with other Christmas related jobs such as food and toy pickupsOther duties as may be assignedQualificationsClear a background checkHave a valid Washington State driver's license and insuranceAbility to follow instructions and work with limited supervisionAbility to interact with the public in a courteous and respectful wayAbility to abide by required dress codeAbility to stand in one area for an extended periodBe 21 years of age or olderPhysical RequirementsAbility to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, kneel and twist on an intermittent or continuous basisAbility to grasp, push, pull objects such boxes of food or other objects and reach overheadAbility to understand and follow written and oral instructionsAbility to operate a motor vehicleAbility to work in a wide variety of weather conditionsAbility to lift 30 - 50 poundsQualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the job with or without accommodation.
