The Master Scheduler role is responsible for the daily execution of the conversion of facility demand into production scheduling. Reporting directly to the Materials Manager, you will integrate the production plan with the master schedule, coordinating availability of raw materials, supplies, resources and equipment to meet delivery dates. In collaboration with the Production Planner, you will develop the master schedule using efficient resource allocation, available materials and lean finished good stocking levels. You'll liaison between the Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Stockroom, Engineering and Procurement teams, and will lead key initiatives, metrics, and projects focused on improving service, cost, and planning as it affects the department. You will be working a hybrid schedule, reporting to the Materials Manager.
You Will:
Translate projected forecasts, incoming volume, and work scopes into a production plan with a time-phased build schedule.
Manage daily production capacity planning
Define production and stocking quantities of single finished products and sub-assemblies
Define resource allocation with production guidance
Manage load leveling and bottleneck scheduling and utilize theory of constraints (TOC) for more accurate scheduling.
Schedule the shop floor with a goal of 98% + on-time delivery of customer orders
Support initiatives of the Continuous Improvement Teams
Support New Product Development
Perform item master maintenance for manufactured items
Maintain important customer inventory requirements
Sponsors, leads or participates on projects to assure the continuous improvement of planning, scheduling and inventory accuracy
Sponsors, leads, and participates in implementing Lean Manufacturing technology to assure manufacturing flexibility, improve productivity, reduce lead-times, minimize inventory levels and maintain the ability to react to changing customer demands
Assemble master schedule reporting regarding performance to the business plan, the shipment plan, the inventory plan, and the production plan
Establish reporting to determine labor and productivity performance statistics
You Have:
Bachelor's in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, or Supply Chain
MBA and/or APICS/ISM certifications highly preferred
5-8 years' minimum experience in Production Planning, Buying/Inventory management, Supply Chain Planning, Continuous Improvement initiatives and relevant software applications.
Utilize oral and written skills leading to effective dealings with suppliers and Watts team members
Experience supporting operations producing highly engineered mechanical product lines is preferred
History of managing direct spend and establishing measurable improvements in Year-over-year
Process-driven and prior success within a manufacturing organization embracing a Lean/Six Sigma transformation
Able to utilize spreadsheet and ERP-type software in managing the planning process
Proven record of enabling change and positive influencing with client groups and frontline teams
Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required
Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets) and PowerPoint
