The responsibilities of a Staff Accountant entail preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, many aspects of internal reporting will be your responsibility. You will also participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and look over schedules for the reporting processes. A very involved position, the Staff Accountant spends a good deal of time producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Located in the Upper Saddle River, New Jersey area, the company offering this challenging long-term contract / temporary opportunity provides a thriving environment and rewards effort.

　　Organize capital lease and monthly payment schedules

　　Be a part of various initiatives spanning multiple departments

　　Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed

　　Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner

　　Complete month end close, journal entries, without supervision

　　Keep up fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

　　Take part the in implementation and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP

　　Be responsible for account reconciliations including prepaid expenses, payroll, and other assignments

　　Play a role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

　　Be responsible for analysis of income statements and balance sheets and communicate findings to management Requirements - Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

　　Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

　　Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases

　　Skilled with ERP systems

　　Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills

　　Sharp, analytical thinking abilities, always seeking to draw connections and identify the "why"

　　Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills

　　BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

　　Recent and relevant accounting experience

　　Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines

　　Manufacturing experience

　　Demonstrated knowledge of Credit Card Reconciliation

　　Foundational knowledge in Accounts Receivable (AR)

　　Adeptness in VLOOKUP

　　General familiarity with bank reconciliations

　　Deep understanding of Accounts Payable (AP)

　　Daily Cash Receipts experience

　　Pivot Table experience

　　Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
