Description

We have an opening for a Staff Accountant with our client in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Staff Accountant will play a critical role in maintaining and reconciling accounts for clients. This role involves managing both accounts payable and receivable, performing bank reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, and executing journal entries. This is a short-term contract to full time employment opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the processing of accounts payable and receivable transactions

• Conduct regular bank reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting

• Maintain and update the general ledger on a regular basis

• Prepare and post journal entries as part of the month-end close process

• Ensure accurate record-keeping of financial transactions

• Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports when necessary

• Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles

• Coordinate and complete annual audits

• Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions

• Meet financial accounting objectives

Requirements

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) processing and management

• Experience with Accounts Receivable (AR) and ability to maintain accurate records

• Ability to conduct thorough Bank Reconciliations

• Comprehensive understanding and experience with General Ledger management

• Proficiency in preparing and posting Journal Entries

• Experience with Month End Close procedures and ability to complete tasks in a timely manner
