Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Syracuse, New York. In this role, you will manage Accounts Receivable, offer support to Accounts Payable, and oversee the reconciliation of accounts. This role is within the telecom provider industry and requires an individual skilled in areas such as Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Bank Reconciliations.

Responsibilities:

• Manage Accounts Receivable and provide backup support for Accounts Payable

• Issue invoices to customers and collect payments

• Process daily credit card customer payments and scan daily check deposits into the bank

• Reconcile accounts as directed and ensure agreement to subsidiary reports and ledgers

• Process journal entries as needed to adjust and correct general ledger accounts

• Track sales and use tax data for monthly submission

• Assist with year-end audit

• Maintain filing related to the above activities

• Perform other accounting-related duties as directed

• Utilize NetSuite for various accounting tasks Requirements • Must possess strong knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience in performing Bank Reconciliations is essential

• Adept at handling General Ledger operations

• Proficient in creating and managing Journal Entries

• Familiarity with Month End Close procedures is required

• Proficiency in using NetSuite software is a must

• Candidates must have a solid background in accounting or a related field

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are necessary

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team is important

• Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is required

• Candidates should possess a strong ethical framework and professional integrity

• Knowledge of current financial regulations and accounting standards is required.
