We're looking for a talented Staff Accountant to join our Business Acceleration team. The staff accountant will post day-to-day vendor invoices and sales deposits into the Dealer Management Software; as well as reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy. This position requires consistent organizational and communication skills, all while working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Responsibilities include maintain daily worksheets and general ledger system, maintain and complete files and records as needed, assist with accounts payable and receivable duties, and provide general administrative support to controller and accounting department team.
What you'll be doing:
Reconcile and record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process
Verify transactions are recorded accurately and in the correct ledger
Perform partial checks of the posting process
Complete tax forms and file tax reports such as sales and use tax, 1099 reporting, and other required reporting as necessary for all companies
Enter data, maintain records and time reports and financial statements
Reconcile daily closing reports and account for discrepancies
Reconcile multiple bank accounts and ledger accounts
Process accounts receivable/payable
Assist with process implementation and training
Receive vendor invoices and packing slips, enter in Dealer Management Software, and prepare for payment
Follow-up on outstanding accounting matters with persons at multiple operating locations
Provide information requested for audits (as applicable)
Direct or participate in special accounting projects as assigned (e.g., on-site Fixed Asset verification)
Assist in compliance with local, state, and federal laws
Additional Responsibilities
Flexibility and adaptability for additional responsibilities as assigned
Ability to do perform site visits in GA & SC
What does a qualified candidate look like?
Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles
High degree of accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail
Ability to multi-task, manage a workload, and meet deadlines
Ability to communicate effectively in an online environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Power Point, Excel). Experience in Oracle, PowerBI and Dealer Management Software is a plus
BS degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration is a plus
