  Robert Half is looking for a Staff Accountant for a permanent opportunity with a reputable company. As a Staff Accountant, you will be in charge of preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will also be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting. You will put your skills towards the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will take part in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and look over schedules for the reporting processes. This intricate position is involved in the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. This Salt Lake City, Utah area-based position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work.

  Responsibilities

  Regular maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries

  Prepare monthly financial close workbooks to support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process

  Assemble journal entries and thorough account reconciliations that include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

  Compose journal entries and conduct the month end close with minimal supervision

  Intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation

  In-depth knowledge of reconciling month end balance sheet accounts

  Partake in a variety of department-wide initiatives

  Special projects and impromptu reporting, upon request

  Survey and organize various financial data, reporting it in a useful and understandable manner

  Arrange schedules for capital lease and monthly payments

  Manage depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation

  Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls. Also ensure that accounting procedures comply with GAAP

  Prepare analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management to report on

  Requirements - 3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

  ERP system experience

  Spreadsheet and database capabilities

  Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

  Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

  Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks

  BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

  Critical thinking skills and the ability to retain complex work directions

  Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment

  Account reconciliation experience preferred

  Proven knowledge of Microsoft Excel

  Balance Sheet Reconciliation experience highly desired

  Well-founded grasp of University Degree

  Accounts Receivable (AR) experience

  General familiarity with Company Revenue Recognition

  Foundational knowledge in account reconciliation

  Proficiency in cash reconciliations

  Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines

  Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
