This is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity in the Colonial Heights, Virginia area, at a company where effort is rewarded. To succeed in this role, you will need to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation and be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. Consider this role if you want to participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. You will be preferred for this role if you have a complex understanding of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets.

　　Major responsibilities

　　Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls while ensuring that accounting procedures comply with GAAP

　　Periodic maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries

　　Special projects and impromptu reporting, upon request

　　Manage reconciliation, depreciation, and fixed asset ledgers

　　Coordinate and analyze a variety of financial data, then report it in a way that is useful and understandable

　　Arrange schedules for capital lease and monthly payments

　　Take part in various department-wide initiatives

　　Become well-versed in month end balance sheet account reconciliations

　　Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks

　　Maintain intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation

　　Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

　　Produce analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for reporting by management

　　Perform month end close, journal entries, with minimum supervision Requirements - Account analysis experience preferred

　　Proficiency in Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation

　　Solid understanding of cash posting

　　General ledger experience preferred

　　Financial analysis experience highly desired

　　Adeptness in Accounts Payable (AP)

　　Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines

　　Spreadsheet and database capabilities

　　Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems

　　Candidate must possess first-rate analytical, quantitative and social skills

　　Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment

　　High attention to detail

　　Recent and relevant accounting experience

　　Skilled with ERP systems

　　BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

　　Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

　　Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
