Nature of Work:

Performs administrative and clerical work of a diverse nature in support of the goals and objectives of the Hispanic Office for Local Assistance (HOLA). Provides exceptional customer service support which requires performing tasks with tact, sensitivity, discretion, and courtesy. Uses sound independent judgment to provide and recommend assistance programs based on the needs and priorities of clients. Duties include screening clients via phone, email, and in-person to provide appropriate assistance program information, assisting clients to complete applications for assistance programs such as utilities, rent, food stamps, and other programs, possibly giving directions to seasonal employees, and attending and participating in City of Orlando-sponsored events to promote HOLA. Work is performed under the general instructions and guidelines of the HOLA Coordinator. Performance is reviewed while in progress through work achieved. Incumbent must work evenings, weekends, and/or holidays as required.

Minimum Requirements

Associate's Degree in Business, Management, Office Management required, or related field and two (2) years of secretarial experience required, preferably with office management responsibilities; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid Florida Driver's License required. Must type 35 CWPM, have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs, and be able to speak, read, and write Spanish.

Typing Test Information:

Tests are administered by invitation only.

Only applicants meeting the minimum qualifications will be invited via email. Invitations will be sent to the email address listed on the application.

Applicants will have (3) three days from the date of the invitation to complete the test. Tests may be completed virtually or onsite.

Applicants are allowed one opportunity to pass the typing test within a posting period or any given 30 days. Scores are valid for one year
