Description

　　Robert Half is looking to bring a long-term contract / temporary to hire Staff Accountant with exceptional organization skills and know-how into a growing organization. The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, many aspects of internal reporting will be your responsibility. You will provide support in developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will take part in compliance, communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This position is very involved as it will produce Cash Flow projections, Budgets, and Financial Statements. Based in the Baltimore, Maryland region, this company offers an engaging and mulit-faceted opportunity where effort is rewarded.

　　What you get to do every day

　　Partake in annual closing processes

　　Commentate on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner

　　Aid in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

　　Manage the design and creation of balance sheet analysis and communicate reports to management

　　Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules

　　Be responsible for account reconciliations including prepaid expenses, payroll, and other assignments

　　Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed

　　Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

　　Complete month end close, journal entries, without supervision

　　Take part in various department-wide initiatives

　　Requirements

　　Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines

　　Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

　　BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

　　3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

　　Competent with spreadsheets and databases

　　Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus

　　Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

　　Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills

　　Experience with ERP systems

　　Notable analytical, quantitative and social skills

　　Financial statement preparation experience

　　General familiarity with Record Journal Entries

　　Comprehensive knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)

　　Proficiency in Reconciling Balance Sheet Account

　　Quality experience with Audit Prep

　　Wide ranging experience with Accounts Receivable (AR)

　　Proven knowledge of Microsoft Excel

　　Well-founded grasp of journal entries

　　Expertise in Monthly Journal Entries

　　Practical knowledge of Monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliation

　　Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
