Description Robert Half is looking for a Staff Accountant for a long-term contract / temporary to hire opportunity with a fast-growing company. As a Staff Accountant, you will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. You will have responsibility for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You will promote the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will take part in compliance, review schedules for the reporting processes, and interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This very involved position works to produce Cash Flow projections, Financial Statements, and Budgets. Key responsibilities
Keep up fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Carry out month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Ready complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed
Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting
Play a role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Participate in various initiatives spanning multiple departments
Help with the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Commentate on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner
Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules Requirements - BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Mature organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in QuickBooks
Solid understanding of Real estate financing
3 Way Matching experience preferred
Experience with ERP systems
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Demonstrated ability in strong analytical, quantitative and social skills
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Detailed and have the ability work independently
Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
