Description Robert Half is seeking candidates for a permanent Staff Accountant position, which will become a critical part of an innovative company. Ideal candidates will thrive on solving challenges and handling multiple projects and components. This Staff Accountant role's duties will require preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. This role will involve internal reporting during the monthly close, participation in compliance, interaction with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and reviewing schedules reporting processes. What you get to do every day
Conduct month end close and compose journal entries with minimal supervision
Prepare monthly financial close workbooks to support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process
Manage intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation
In-depth knowledge of reconciling month end balance sheet accounts
Coordinate and analyze a variety of financial data, then report it in a way that is useful and understandable
Take part in various department-wide initiatives
Manage schedules for capital lease and monthly payments
Oversee depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Assemble analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management reporting
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
Periodically maintain and reconcile journal entries
Contribute to the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP Requirements - Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
Ability to meet deadlines
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
Bank reconciliations experience desired
Command of general ledger
Deep understanding of Microsoft Excel
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Proficient in ERP systems
