AWS Infrastructure is looking for a driven, and analytical, Sr. Waste Facility Manager for its America's Reverse Logistics operation based in Greencastle, PA. The mission of AWS Reverse Logistics is to manage and scale Information Technology Asset Disposition (ITAD) services for Used Electronics and Electronic Equipment (UEEE) through secure and environmentally sustainable practices supporting asset recovery while safeguarding customer data and Amazon intellectual property.
The Sr. Waste Facility Manager will be responsible for overall waste operations of the facility, ensuring the facility is compliant with all environmental, health & safety laws and regulations. The Sr. Waste Facility Manager will develop internal policies and procedures to manage a wide variety of used and waste electrical and electronic equipment. Additionally, the Sr. Waste Facility Manager will represent the facility during interactions with regulators pertaining to waste permit application, compliance and accompany the relevant person at public meetings as needed.
The Sr. Waste Facility Manager must have excellent communication skills (both oral and written), strong environmental regulatory knowledge particularly with respect to waste management regulations, and demonstrated success in program development and management. The optimal candidate is a high-judgment, solid waste/hazardous waste/e-waste subject matter expert, preferably with scrap-metal shredding experience. This individual will focus on operating and growing the business to support sustainability goals while maintaining strict compliance with regulatory operational requirements.
This role will have a higher amount of travel expectations within the first 6 months of the role for pre-site launch activities and process training in current locations.
Key job responsibilities* Day to day management of the facility to ensure site compliance with all procedures.* Identify and implement best practice to maximize production in the hours that the facility is permitted to operate.* Ensure that product/waste materials handling, separation and delivery to appropriate outlets are conducted in the most environmentally and commercially responsible manner.* Ensure that all licenses and permits necessary to conduct the waste business are complied with including EPA licenses. This should include downstream dispatch of products & waste.* Ensure all personnel are fully trained for their role and that all work completed is in accordance with health and safety guidelines and best practices.* Responsibility for ensuring a maintenance program is put in place and operated for all production and mobile operations.* Produce weekly KPI reports detailing production, throughput and recovery figures from the facility.* Ensure work performed by contractors, and employees is completed in accordance with AWS standards.* Report and respond to facility emergencies including root cause analysis and corrective actions.* Lead submittal of certain time-critical reports to various governmental agencies.* Participate in regulatory audits and inspections.

Greencastle, PA, USA- Bachelor's or advanced degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Chemical/Environmental Engineering, or related technical or quantitative field, or addi ional 4+ years of related industry experience in lieu of a degree- 6+ years of experience directly managing a regulated TSDF waste operation, including sustainability and circular economy objectives- 6+ years of experience in program, project or product management, or leading an implementation of a product* Experience and knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations in the United States* Certified Waste Management Specialist or other similar certification* Experience working with the tech/data center sector* Experience working at a waste treatment, storage, and disposal facility* E-waste and life cycle planning and management experience* Experience in a fast paced, changing/growing organization* Excellent organizational and project management skills* Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment* Excellent communication skills, strong relationship builder, solid influencing and negotiation skills, and the ability to coach at multiple levels* Ability to distill complex and ambiguous subjects into clear action plans* Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving ability
