The Infrastructure organization within AWS is responsible for creating an optimized supply-chain platform that delivers all of Amazon's storage and compute capacity at the lowest possible cost. The AWS Data Center Planning and Delivery team is responsible for ensuring we have infrastructure available to meet our customer's needs.We have an opening for a Sr. TIPM who will be responsible for the planning, coordination and execution of upgrades, and optimization of our existing data centers.The ideal candidate will be an exceptionally strong communicator, both written and verbally, and possess 5+ years of experience in tactical project management of highly technical initiatives, as well as strategic program management.A Bachelor's Degree or additional technical experience is required. Candidates possessing a background in software/hardware engineering, infrastructure operations, analytical data mining and/or software development who have transitioned to a program management discipline will have a distinct advantage.Candidate must be comfortable supporting project delivery teams, and regional business development teams. Ability to work cross-functional matrix-based teams, establish trust with a variety of stakeholders across multiple time zones, and develop workflows that eliminate non-value-add activity, remove blockers, and find creative ways to optimize our existing data centers.Key job responsibilitiesManage the dependencies and the interfaces between projects and negotiate the trade-offs needed.Create and execute long range models working with finance and development teams to build medium and long range plans.Provide program progress reporting on a regular basis to senior leadership. Articulating root-cause analysis, and linking to specific improvement areas.Summarize escalation support and critical leadership decisions.End to end responsibility for the Site Upgrade program execution and success. The base pay for this position ranges from $118,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,300/year in our highest geographic market.
