SUMMARYDevelops and implements programs, projects, or processes for an assigned customer account(s) (Business Unit). Develops and sponsors tactics to achieve strategic objectives across functional groups or within a business group through customer interaction. Manages the alignment of technology road map and Jabil’s Technology road map. Capable of selling Jabil’s value-add services such as design, layout, and Global Operations Services (Advanced Manufacturing, Advanced Test, R & D, etc.) globally.Develop and grow business through profitable design wins and flawless execution. Provide management and guidance to multi-functional project teams across multiple global Jabil sites. Provides management and oversite for the different Technical Business Unit Manager (“TBUMs”) roles assigned Globally to support customer needs as well as Business Unit Managers. Manage and enhance customer relationships. Provide single-point-of-contact to customer for all design and operations related activities. Provide full accountability for multi-site project budgets and schedules. Technically capable of developing, managing and delivering very highly complex technology projects. This includes developing complex SOW, business proposals, project schedules/financials, and managing multiple global projects. Influences strategic direction and develops tactical plans and completes complex assignments with minimal supervision or review, including contract negotiation and amendment.End results are evaluated for achieving goals and objectives. Extensive contact with internal and external customers is required to obtain, clarify or provide facts and information.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES• The Technical Senior Business Unit Manager is a member of the plant strategic leadership team.• Demonstrates an entrepreneurial spirit and drive.• Full responsibility for a customer/site Profit & Loss (P&L) statement (generally across multi-sites or multi-customer assignments).• Establishes and manages current customer relationships, striving to capitalize on organic revenue growth opportunities.• Negotiates contract terms and/or amends established contract terms with customers.• Exhibits demonstrated sales/revenue growth success with past and current customer base.• Exhibits demonstrated successful relationship-building skills with high-level audiences at more strategic and senior levels within the organization.• Responsible for the Request for Proposal (RFP) process for assigned customer accounts. May support RFP processes for others.• Pricing (i.e. materials and value-add).• The Technical Senior Business Unit Manager, if required, is the leader of the workcell and is accountable for the operational and financial performance of that workcell.• Full responsibility for continuous improvement of customer relationship performance metrics and customer satisfaction.• Assumes leadership role in site-level strategic planning meetings.• Manages and drives the Quarterly Business Review (QBR) process with assigned customer account• Ensures Jabil’s integration into global customer’s technology roadmap.• Technically develops, manages and delivers very highly complex technology projects including developing complex detailed Statements of Work (SOW), business proposals, project schedules/financials, managing multiple global projects, and design service agreements (DSA).• Present and sell Jabil’s Technology to assigned customer or program. Must be professional and comfortable doing presentations to external senior level engineers and management. • Owns relationship with the customer’s design/central engineering group and supports all their technical projects. Functions as the primary contact in technical questions between multiple global sites within Jabil and the customer.
• Full responsibility for strategic direction for Jabil Design and Product Development teams.
• Serves as primary point of contact for early supplier involvement on new customer R & D projects.
• Manages BU Global technical team to support customer needs.
• Responsible for coordinating numerous technical projects and the assigned TBUMs to ensure a cohesive technology plan to meet customer needs. • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.JOB QUALIFICATIONSKNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS• Excellent communication skills• Excellent technical skills (i.e. engineering, R & D, product design/development per assigned sector or customer) to align Jabilwith customer’s technology road map• Knowledge and good understanding of Jabil Design and Technology Services• Strong financial skill knowledge and aptitude (e.g. balance sheet and income statement)• Strong operational knowledge (e.g., manufacturing, supply chain)• Jabil tools (Financial system, AROD, quote process, etc.)• Contract knowledge fundamentals• Leadership/people-management skills• Strong customer service skills and experience• Proficient computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation applications• Strong project management skillsEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS• Bachelor's Degree required. Masters Degree preferred.• Degree in Engineering or Computer Science preferred.• Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred.• 12 years work-related experience required with a Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Engineering or Technology fields (i.e. R & D, product design/development, road map processes, etc.). 8 years experience required with a Master’s Degree.• Or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience.
