Title: Sr. Systems Engineer (Storage Infrastructure)
Duties: The Sr. Systems Engineer (Infrastructure) is a highly talented team member who will be responsible for management of AutoZone’s storage array and SAN infrastructure. This includes, but is not limited to, provisioning, deprovisioning, and monitoring SAN and storage array performance, as well as designing and implementation of new storage solutions. The engineer will participate in preventive maintenance, troubleshoot complex issues, and work with various function areas on storage related projects and service improvements. Responsibilities may include: design, implement, and support enterprise class storage including 3PAR, HDS, and DELL; engage with vendors to define and update roadmap for storage lifecycle management; develop detailed plans for implementing any new SAN solutions; perform and manage storage related tasks including allocations, reclaims, switch zoning, data migration, firmware/software upgrades, and issues resolution; utilize vendor specific tools and CLI to perform daily operational tasks; coordinate and perform firmware/software updates with end users and vendor support; complete all change management processes for all changes; define and refine processes for monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity management; review current process and identify improvement opportunities; execute plans to improve all aspects of storage management; validate, maintain, and develop storage related documentations; complete periodic review of existing documentation and update accordingly; develop new documentation as new solutions/projects are deployed; coordinate with various functional areas and support vendors to resolve hardware related issues; participate in all related incident calls and problem management review; escalate to vendor support accordingly based on severity of the issues; resolve operating, technical and coordination challenges which may impact system effectiveness and operations that may span multiple IT disciplines; and leverage available tools within each storage platform to help diagnose problems.
Requirements: Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related and 8 years of storage technology experience, including:
Designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise storage using HPE 3par, and EMC storage products
SAN storage fabric management including management of zones, alias, FC switches and directors
Storage provisioning to Unix, Linux, and Windows for physical and virtual platforms
Developing and executing plans for storage consolidations and migrations
