Assists in the design, development and implementation of computer applications to provide better utilization of Department resources and more efficient operation of our physical security program.
Periodic backup and restoration testing of computer-based security systems.
Keep track of all physical security regulatory standard requirements (e.g. CIP-006, CIP-014), and assists the Compliance Manager in monitoring compliance.
Review, comment and prepare for any proposed or revised physical security regulatory standard requirements; evaluate the impact and effort necessary to comply with each standard and prepare related documentations needed for compliance.
Integration of new hardware and software with existing security systems.
Access provisioning and revocation using security systems.
Maintenance and testing of new security systems.
Work to develop required protocols and procedural revisions to address new and/or revised physical security standards to ensure continued compliance with such new and/or revised standards.
Ensure the timely, accurate and well-documented submittal of physical security-related data to the appropriate regulatory agencies as part of regulatory engagements (e.g. audits, control evaluations).
Assist System Operation in the development of physical security compliance violation Mitigation Plans. Monitor and report on status of Mitigation Plan implementation.
Develop security-related presentations and deliver them to Department Management and Executives, as required.
Participate in industry forums related to physical security and compliance such as the NATF committees and sub committees.
Perform other related tasks and assignments, including acting as the backup Facility Security Officer (FSO), as required.
Required Education/Experience
Associate's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or Information Systems, or related field and 6 years of work experience or
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or Information Systems, or related field and 4 years of work experience or
Master's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or Information Systems, or related field and 2 years of work experience
Relevant Work Experience
Strong organizational and administrative skills are essential, and the ability to adhere to schedules and meet deadlines. Required
Must possess strong oral and written communication skills and be able to exercise independent judgment. Required
Experience in writing technical procedures, process documents or specifications. Required
Must have strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Required
Working understanding of layer 3 computer networking hardware, including switches (POE and non-POE), and cabling connectors. Required
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with personnel on all levels. Required
Experience using, installing, and/or maintaining verity security systems. Preferred
Experience with SharePoint and Nintex Workflows is preferred. Preferred
Understanding of the energy utility industry is preferred. Preferred
Candidates with Windows or Linux systems administration experience are preferred. Preferred
Candidates with programming experience, particularly with .NET technologies, are preferred. Preferred
Candidates with Military and/or Law Enforcement experience are preferred. Preferred
Licenses & Certifications
Driver's License Required
Other: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Preferred
Other: Certified Security Project Manager (CSPM) Preferred
Other Physical Demands
