To be successful in this role, you will need extensive knowledge of programming languages and the software development life cycle, have the desire to work in fast-paced environment, and be able to develop unit testing of code components or complete applications.
Must be U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
This role can be a combination of onsite and remote work
Responsibilities:
M anaging software projects
Direct system testing and validation procedures
Lead software programming and documentation development
Consult with departments or customers on project status and proposals
Work with customers or departments on technical issues including software system design and maintenance
Analyze information to recommend and plan the installation of new systems or modifications of an existing system
Consult with engineering staff to evaluate software-hardware interfaces and develop specifications and performance requirements
Design and develop software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and design consequences
Prepare reports on programming project specifications, activities, or status
Confer with project managers to obtain information on limitations or capabilities
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or a related field
15+ years of experience
Government contracting experience
Programing experience, preferably coding science software in C/C++
Knowledge of FORTRAN and Legacy software
Scripting languages such as PERL, Python, BASH
Ability to communicate effectively with project leads and system administrators
Effective writing skills as this task requires documenting the design and usage of coded software
Experience with Git/GitHub
Solid experience in Linux platforms
