  We are looking for an experienced software engineer to join our team within our Interiors Cabin Lighting at our Bohemia, NY facility.

  In this role you will design, develop, document, test and debug control and diagnostic systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.

  This is an Onsite position.

  Primary Responsibilities:

  Conducting multidisciplinary research and collaborating with equipment designers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.

  Determine end user needs by analyzing system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements and input data acquisition.

  Ensures hardware and software standards are met.

  Designs and implements build procedures that are used to support hardware and software product development and use.

  Develop software configuration standards and train software developers in the use of configuration management tools and the implementation of software quality standards. Includes control modeling (model-based design).

  Qualifications/Experience Required:

  Typically requires:

  Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience OR In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.

  Preferred Qualifications:

  Experience in full lifecycle software development process from requirements through verification and validation.

  Excellent written and verbal skills

  Good computer skills with ability to learn new programs/software

  Ability to work under pressure and within time constraints

  Excellent organizational skills with ability to multi-task amidst rapid change

  Proactive, forward-thinking and self-motivated behavior

  Experience with microprocessors, microcontrollers, and/or DSPs

  Experience in RTCA DO-178X processes (or similar safety-critical software development guidelines)

  Experience with color science and software color mixing approaches

  Experience with Real Time Operating Systems

  Experience with MBSE (Model Based Systems Engineering)

  Experience with DOORS or a similar requirement management system

  This role is also eligible for the Re-Empower Program.   Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

  Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

  Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.

  The salary range for this role is 85,000 USD - 179,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
