As a Rigid Packaging Sales Professional, you will follow up on leads andresearch companies to help them find the right solution for theirpackaging needs. Whether the customer is introducing a new product orre-staging an existing product, you will be the consultant throughoutthe process. From product consultation, manufacturing, inventorymanagement, to providing the most cost-effective and efficient door todoor service, rigid packaging professionals are ready to service thecustomer every step of the way to make their ideas and dreams a reality.By acting as an extension of your customers\' business, you will becomean invaluable asset and will build long term relationships that willgrow with you during your tenure.
Job Responsibilities:
Travel throughout assigned territory to call on existing andprospective customers with the purpose of sustaining and growingmarket share; promote and sell company products; execute in-depthselling in all accountsPlan, coordinate and make sales presentations; display ordemonstrate products using samples or catalogsEstablish with management and achieve specific goals for key andtarget accountsPossess, or acquire in a reasonable time, in-depth knowledge ofproduct line; maintain knowledge of market, current market shareposition, and competitors; establish strategy to securecompetitors\' businessWork closely with customer service, keeping them apprised ofcustomer needs and any deviationsWork with vendors and core suppliers to develop new business andprotect existing businessParticipate in all sales meetingsQuote prices and credit terms, estimate delivery dates, and preparesales contracts; understand, exercise, and promote operational/salesrequirements, adhering to minimum order size, profitable deliveryrequirements, and limiting special delivery requests; understand andachieve order profitabilityFollow established accounting and credit handling procedures; assistCredit department with collections and turn in cash receipts dailyObtain signed purchase orders for all custom productsPrepare reports of business transactionsMaintain complete customer files and maintain complete accountinformationOther related duties and responsibilities as required or assignedQualifications / Knowledge & Experience:
Packaging knowledge required, rigid packaging knowledge preferred.Good working knowledge of product lines, distribution methods, andpricing methods.Basic computer literacy and knowledge of proprietary databases andsystems as required.Undergraduate degree or equivalent years experience desiredOne to three years experience in outside sales in related industryVeritiv is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
