The Specialist will schedule and coordinate maintenance activities between operations, maintenance, engineering and contractors
Plans future maintenance work to reduce potential delays and maximize maintenance workforce “wrench time”. Is responsible for co-ordination and support of work that has been started.
Identifies and co-ordinates necessary resources, with sufficient lead time prior to the start of the work to ensure those resources can be scheduled when needed, for effective and efficient execution of the work. Necessary resources can include:
a) Work scope and job instructions;
b) Technical information – e.g. drawing, manuals;
c) MRO parts and materials – e.g. MRO stores, parts / material to be purchased;
d) Special tools and equipment – e.g. mobile / heavy equipment, precision tools;
e) Special permitting – e.g. confined space, “hot work”, etc.
f) Minimum skill levels and quantity of human resources required
g) Production operating conditions
Ensures safety needs are given a top priority in work planning and scheduling.
This role is based in our Fremont, CA location.
Duties & Responsibilities
Develops work plans based upon work request and field inspection of the work site.
Identifies what work is to be done and critical resources required.
Estimate level of effort (man-hours) required by skill, work duration, and cost of parts and material required.
Ensures completed schedules and work orders are returned promptly and that all completed work orders are filled out completely.
Reviews actual work effort required, work duration, and parts and materials used. Reviews comments provided by those involved in the work. Revise work plans as needed to improve effectiveness of future work.
Performs job reviews to ensure actual work performed and performed maintenance testing was adequate; identifies changes needed to PM program (based on activity results) and/or changes to equipment design and/or inventory management practices to optimize the overall maintenance process Job Requirements.
Publishes a weekly list of approved and planned maintenance work.
Develops equipment efficiency and expected life span
Reviews equipment history on approved corrective work orders. Identifies situations with repeat failures. Identifies problem situations to operations, maintenance, and engineering for resolution.
Work closely with maintenance and equipment owner to address cost to repair and/or replace
Updates CMMS system as required to ensure adequate preventative maintenance
Ensure storeroom efficiency
Reserves or procures critical parts and materials required, as appropriate (i.e. standard MRO stores item, or purchase item). Arrange staging / kitting of parts and materials, as appropriate.
Reviews stock levels of maintenance items and communicate changes to maintenance / parts Inventory
Compensation Data
This position offers a base salary typically between $72,000 to $152,000 The position may be eligible for a role specific variable or performance based bonus and or other compensation elements. Requirements
AS/AA degree in an engineering, maintenance or related discipline and /or equivalent experience required with progressive experience in an industrial setting.
Minimum of four years of manufacturing experience
ERP (Oracle / SAP) experience or similar manufacturing system
CMMS experience
