Amazon Screening Services conducts more than 4MM screenings annually while leveraging 80+ vendors globally (and continuing to grow). We are building the first system to intelligently route the projected 10MM+ screens across all existing and future vendors, allowing us to balance the speed at which Amazon hires, the cost, and acceptable risk across the entire workforce.As a Senior Engineer you will have direct influence on this greenfield project by designing highly scalable solutions and applying technology to optimize business problems. The expected outcome of this teamwork should enable 4x faster screening.The ideal candidate is passionate about software development and has a track record of leading the design and implementation of new products and features using cloud solutions. You have solved complex problems and have seen your solutions deployed at scale in live environments. You are a hands-on expert and have set the technical vision for the products you've owned. You're are a force multiplier through being a role model and mentoring other engineers.We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:Seattle, WA, USA- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalentOur compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $134,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market.
