Each system is custom designed per client based on the optimal solution. This requires a team effort of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering, controls, software, and project management. The team will develop and implement a design concept that satisfies the customer's requirement for safety, functionality, reliability, throughput, and expense.
Responsibilities
Designing/enhancing conveyor systems as well as various automated and semi-automated material handling systems; may lead on larger projects or an entire project programsReview of product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer requirements and specificationsCoordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problemsPrepares/Reviews approval, permit, and installation drawings using AutoCADObtains material and product quotes from vendors and issues purchase ordersHelps monitor the project schedule, engineering time, and material costsWorks with other disciplines on the project team to make sure the engineered solution and all equipment fit within system confines and constraintsTravels up to 20% to measure buildings, inventory equipment, commission systems, and interface with customersParticipates in continuous improvement projectsResolves engineering issues by working with customers, vendors and other team members
Qualifications
