We are looking for a talented Sr Product Designer to join our team for our location in Troy, MI.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Create solid modeling, layout and drawings necessary for product design of axle/suspension components and systems. This will include the use of CAE tools; Creo and Simulate.
Check major design and drawings prepared by other drafting personnel with respect to accuracy, technical adequacy, and conformance with accepted procedures.
Interface with all aspects of engineering to meet customer requirements with focus on project timing and product design.
Work with other designers and engineers to release detailed drawing packages.
Establish good working relationships with team members, outside suppliers, customers and various internal groups.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
A regionally applicable Certification (e.g. US Department of Labor) or two year Associates Degree from an accredited college program in a relevant field of study.
2-year degree is a plus.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.
Product design with 10 years of direct designer experience preferred.
Preferred background and skills would include:
Familiar with trailer and suspension systems
Familiar with structural components (forgings, castings, weldments)
Experience with layout including dimensional stack-up calculations for component assemblies
Good understanding of geometric tolerancing and dimensioning
Strong good communication skills of all types are strongly preferred.
Well versed with all MS Windows software
Familiar with Creo Simulate or Ansys strongly preferred.
This role is Hybrid Remote: 3 days in office, M-F 7 AM - 4 PM (Flexible)
Pay starting at $26.08/HR or higher, based on experience level.
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
