In this position you will have an opportunity to work with our Preconstruction team. You will work to analyze project requirements and develop models and estimates in support of preconstruction bid pursuits. Our ideal candidate must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, while responding to multiple priorities. You will support work within the Estimating team and work in partnership with our Preconstruction Services team to pursue project work within the curtainwall industry.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Use current VDC (Virtual Design and Construction) and BIM estimating software (Revit, Navisworks, Rhino/Grasshopper) to create detailed 3-D models to represent project estimate.
Collaborate with internal Enclos teams (Design, Engineering, Project Management, Manufacturing, Field, Sales) to determine pricing and produce informed bid responses.
Collaborate with design teams and General Contractors proactively to ensure that design intent and scope of work has been fully considered.
Analyzes all models, architectural drawings, specifications, and addenda to determine project requirements.
Perform quantity surveying using various tools as necessary (e.g. Revit, Rhino/Grasshopper, Bluebeam, Hand Take-off, Etc.).
Extract, sort, and produce glass and metal materials recaps utilizing Enclos proprietary software, spreadsheets, or forms.
Prepare accurate and detailed project recaps, listing all exclusions and special conditions.
Determine problem areas that are discovered during the take-off to Sales and Estimating Manager.
Our ideal candidate should have an Associates or bachelor's degree in Architectural Drafting & Design, Building Sciences, Construction Management, or related field. Applicants with previous work experience within the construction industry can substitute for educational degree. Minimum of 8 years of experience within the curtainwall industry is preferred. Our ideal candidate will have the ability to read and interpret construction contract documents including drawings, project specifications and bidding instructions. Candidates must have ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. In addition, apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry, and a common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Candidates should have basic understanding of MS Office Suite. Previous experience with BIM modeling software such as Revit, Rhino/Grasshopper, and Navisworks is preferred.
