The ideal candidate is a smart, passionate technologist with extensive knowledge of Kubernetes both in the data center and the cloud who wants to bring together the best of development and operations. We seek to blend software engineering with systems engineering to design, develop, run, and scale the next generation of systems for a global company that demands scalability, reliability, and innovation.
As a valued member of the team, the infrastructure engineer will be responsible for supporting the core Kubernetes platform and related compute, networking, and storage environment in our data center. The team member should possess strong technical and communication skills to partner with IT teams to manage and maintain an enterprise data center. The ideal candidate must have the ability and motivation to expand their technical knowledge and skills through a combination of formal training, self-directed training, and on-the-job experience.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure business requirements and functional specifications are converted into flexible, scalable, and maintainable solution designs; evaluate project deliverables to ensure they meet specifications and architectural standards.Design, configure, and maintain Kubernetes clusters or other container orchestrators in a production environment including on-premises anfawsd cloud providers.Understand software design patterns and development experience in Golang, Yaml, and Python/shell; understand application-level software architecture.Automate and simplify team development, test, and operations processes; develop detailed architecture plans for large-scale enterprise architecture projects and drive the plans to completion.Translate application requirements into system requirements that can be used to design and implement the Kubernetes environment for applications. Provide mentoring and guidance to more junior-level engineers; may provide feedback and direction on specific engineering tasks.Create and maintain detailed documentation of the infrastructure environment. Participate in team on-call rotation.Provide excellent customer service.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Production experience in large, containerized computing environments utilizing Kubernetes with Docker containers for an IT enterprise-wide environment.Experience leveraging CI/CD tooling like ArgoCD, Jenkins, Codefresh, Artifactory, and GitHub.Ability to debug performance and failure issues in the container ecosystem.Experience in managing Enterprise Storage, Compute, and virtualization. Experience with Ubuntu, RedHat, or other Linux derivatives.Experience in automation tools like Terraform, Ansible, and Puppet.Critical thinker with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Team-oriented individual with a strong work ethic and growth mindset.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) Certification or other Kubernetes/Docker Certifications.Possess a strong understanding of DevOps culture, Microservices Architecture, Kubernetes Clusters, Containers, CICD practices, and building solutions in the public cloud (Google Cloud, Azure, or AWS).Knowledge of Azure cloud architectures, configurations, services, and solutions.Capability to build CRDs and custom operators in Kubernetes-managed container echo system.Familiarity with backup & recovery technologies and concepts. Good understanding and experience in various observability tools in terms of logging, monitoring, and tracing.
