Disney Publishing Worldwide develops original, award-winning Learning and Storytelling content for Disney, Marvel, Lucas and own-created brands, which fuels both CPGP and TWDC. It is considered the largest children’s publishing brand in the world.
We are seeking a motivated Senior Financial Analyst to support and help drive the Vertical Books business within Disney Publishing Worldwide.
What You Will Do
Support planning across key business cycles: Annual Operating Plan, Long-Term Strategic Plan, Monthly Forecasts and Quarter Close, including the preparation of presentations to Publishing and CPGP Executive teams and financial results to Disney Publishing Global teams
Build modeling tools to perform business analysis and deal valuation - deep-dive analysis to support business growth strategies including greenlight financials, special projects, and presentations for various internal customers
Build and maintain financial models and P&Ls (revenue, costs, and managed operating income) - report, monitor and manage key financial and non-financial performance indicators
Collaborate with key stakeholders: internal finance team; functional teams for developing forecasts and budgets; accounting team for close process; partner teams for cross-functional deals/projects
Report directly to a Manager of Finance responsible for the North America Vertical Books operation
Required Qualifications & Skills
At least 2 years of work experience in finance or accounting
Strong financial modeling and analytical abilities
Attention to detail, desire for accuracy, and a strong sense of urgency
Business intelligence, data analysis, or market analysis exposure
General knowledge and experience with contract deals and revenue recognition
Ability to quickly learn new concepts, solve problems, implement solutions, and adapt to new systems/tools
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Collaborative and enjoys working with peers across a variety of products and regions
Advanced Excel and PowerPoint ability; SAP and Cognos experience preferred
Education
Bachelor’s degree required (preferably in Finance or equivalent)Disability accommodation for employment applications
