As a Senior Test Engineer, your primary role will be to develop automated electro-mechanical test platforms using Labview software and troubleshoot existing test platforms when problems arise. The VI programs you create will automate the test process and data log the results. You will also be tasked with the upkeep of the test lab computers and route computers through the IT department for any unresolved issues. You will also design and document the electrical schematics used to wire the test fixtures. Your secondary role will be to execute static/abuse/cycle testing of airplane water and waste vacuum systems in a noisy, light industrial environment. This is a hands-on job that can occasionally be physically challenging such as working from ladders. As the Senior Test Engineer, you will assist technicians with test setups while coordinating necessary activities to complete testing on time. The Senior Test Engineer will be aware of all aspects of a specific program test requirements and will be a source of knowledge about what needs to be achieved to succeed. Priorities are constantly changing as due dates move so the ability to adjust on the fly is crucial. The Senior Test Engineer will adopt a “Safety First” culture.

Responsibilities:
Develop automated electro-mechanical test platforms that include data logging using Labview Software.
Document schematic wiring diagrams.
Keep test lab computers in functioning order.
Oversees the preparation of equipment for testing to ensure that systems perform according to necessary specifications on all platforms/projects/systems.
Establishes validation standards and develops testing protocols for all platforms/projects/systems.
Reviews and submits documentation of testing/validation results and confirms operations according to necessary regulations to ensure production quality all platforms/projects/systems.
Provides technical leadership to team members on all protocols for testing/validation.
Applies scientific principles to innovate, design, develop, and implement technologies, components, sub-systems, machines, tools, and systems to ensure compliance to specifications, requirements, and customer guarantees across applicable operating conditions.
Ensures novel ideas and implementations are captured and protected using applicable IP processes and tools.
Measures, analyzes, and calibrates equipment and processes to ensure quality.
Ensures systems perform according to necessary specifications.
Confirms operations according to necessary regulations.
Establishes validation standards and develops testing protocols.
Documents test results and maintains records for later analysis. Coordinates with other departments who will be affected by testing.
10% travel time as needed to support offsite testing.
Qualifications/Experience Needed:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant engineering/Labview experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 4 years of engineering/Labview experience or in absence of a degree, 10 years of relevant engineering/Labview experience.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:
Automating electro-mechanical test stations and test rigs.
Writing Test Plans & Test Reports
Executing qualification tests, collecting data, and writing test reports.
CAD software such as NX, Solidworks, or Inventor Pro
Microsoft Office products
Working with hand and power tools (grinders, saws, impacts, drills, etc.)
PVC plumbing, pneumatic cylinders/ solenoids, and basic electrical systems (AC/DC)

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
