EIIC functional excellence organization is aligned to CTO’s strategy to drive “One Eaton Engineering Functional Excellence”. Charter of this organization is to simplify & create better work experiences for our Engineers by transforming existing engineering work processes. EIIC functional excellence organization will work with global Engineering Functional Excellence leaders in CTO’s office, Electrical and Industrial Sector businesses.
This lead engineering position will lead of development and evolution of next generation requirement management process for new product introduction & Engineering information management.
This position will be responsible for driving the faster product launch processes across the organization by leveraging existing PDLC framework (PROLaunch) and digitalization approaches thru information management, where requirement management is connected to all the phases of product development digitally.
This role will develop the long-term roadmap for developing and deploying digital thread framework, tools, templates & guides, in requreiement management context in specific.
This role will also lead the development of the information management & reuse framework that leverages all the existing details released as a part of new product introduction, sustaining engineering projects etc.
This role will support to define and implementation of a state-of-the-art Engineering Information Management (EIM) system across the organization.
These EIM systems/Tools would allow the easy-to-use collaboration on a Single Source of Truth for engineering data across teams and disciplines.
Qualifications:
Requirement -
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Electrical. Strong understanding of organizational product launch processes & Requirement Management
3-5 years’ experience in Requirement management & New product design with a total experience of 5-7 years
Use systematic tools to gather the voice of customers from key functions of all businesses on requirement management, synthesize inputs to form requirements for improvement
Work with business stakeholders for capturing requirements, post processing of data by utilizing digital tools, benchmarking to develop comprehensive proposals.Competent in understanding the business requirements and efficient enough to translate the same into IT requirements (Past experience as business analyst or requirement analyst will be added advantage)
Effectively integrate various PROLaunch processes, templates, department-level best practices and new product design & transferable practices, within the organization for different project types, with requirement engineering as a focus
Identify applicable opportunities for automation & digitization of Engineering processes/ templates using appropriate tools such as Excel Macros, VBA, Python, PowerApps & other O365 tools. Continuously builds digital skills to simplify processes. Develops impactful dashboards and reports using Power BI and sharing those reports effectively using Microsoft Power Platform.
Conceptualize and implement next gen Requirement management framework including databases, risk assessments and visual dashboards
Develop and implement effective training plans for all levels of the organization that help develop and sustain adoption of upgraded process
Conduct process health assessments, monitors assessment outcome and corrective action plans, and impact business results
Identify opportunities to standardize and digitize Engineering processes across businesses and lead efforts to get them implemented
Manage effective stakeholder communications. Improve organization responsiveness to stakeholder requirements. Communication and manage customer expectations and commitments internal to the business.
Skills:
Knows system engineering and various tools being used in PDLC
Has worked as Requirement Management Engineer, and has good understanding of RM tools and related automation etc.
Capable of developing the requirements /user stories etc., understands data engineering
Knows Basic programing skills in Python, VBA etc.
Hands-on experience in Microsoft Power BI
Leadership skills - the capability to lead change, excellent communication and presentation skills – both verbal and written with the ability to make necessary status reports and technical presentations to Eaton management, Good analytical skills and business acumen, High proficiency in preparing and managing schedules.
Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functional in a global organization
