Responsible for accounting, reporting and control activities of theDistrict to ensure compliance with GAAP and corporate policy. Theposition will work cooperatively and collaboratively with employees atall levels of the organization to provide guidance, information andsupport as necessary to understand key business driversand to ensuresafeguarding of company assets. All tasks will be conducted inaccordance with the Martin Marietta\'s Code of Ethical Business Conduct.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for accounting activities associated with general ledgertransactions including journal entries and account reconciliationResponsible for ensuring internal controls are in place andeffective through monitoring and testingResponsible for ensuring compliance with policies and proceduresthrough review, analysis and documentationActive role in the Budget/Forecast process including guidance,trend/ad-hoc analysis and data reports for both field and managementAssist with capital expenditure requests through financial modelingand written expenditure justificationsReview legal documents to ensure compliance with terms and accuratereportingManage direct reports across multiple functionsOther duties as assignedKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and theanalysis and reporting of financial data.Knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley Section 404 compliance requirementsExcellent computer skills including Microsoft Office; experiencewith and knowledge of JD Edwards, Blackline, IBM Planning Analytics,Cognos and Tableau a plusExceptional interpersonal skills- verbal and writtenStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent time management, planning, and organizational skills;capable of managing multiple tasks and deadlinesMINIMUM EDUCATION
Bachelor\'s degree in Finance or AccountingProfessional designation desired or working towards (MBA, CPA orCMA)5+ years of finance/accounting experience, public accounting or onaccounting staff of a large, publicly owned manufacturing companypreferred.WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Most time is spent in an air-conditioned office environment with someassignments outdoors that may require exposure to dust, sand, gravel,diesel exhaust and various weather conditions. Occasional overnighttravel required. Physical requirements include lifting/carrying up to 5pounds from ground to waist, visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand andeye coordination and manual dexterity, standing, sitting (must be ableto sit for extended periods of time) climbing stairs, bending, andstooping.
