Description

We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in Troy, Michigan. The Sr. Accountant will play a key role in helping us streamline our accounting processes and train the team for future success. This hybrid role is vital in assisting with the cleanup of the accounts payable and the development of new processes.

The day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Implement and develop new accounting processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency

• Train the team in correctly executing newly developed processes

• Oversee the cleanup of the accounts payable mess and ensure accurate record keeping

• Conduct regular account reconciliations, including balance sheet and bank reconciliations

• Manage the general ledger and make necessary journal entries

• Proficiently use Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting

• Perform month-end close activities promptly and accurately

• Utilize SAP for various accounting tasks

• Maintain accurate records and ensure all financial data is organized and readily available for audits.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have the following skill set:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role as a Sr. Accountant

• Proficient in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations, and General Ledger

• Ability to prepare and review Journal Entries

• Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel

• Experience in Month End Close processes

• Proficiency in using SAP software

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field

• Professional certification such as CPA is preferred

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as a part of a team

• High attention to detail and accuracy

• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
