Description There's a career-building opportunity for an experienced Senior Accountant to join an innovative Transport company in a permanent role in the Chesterfield, Virginia area. As a Senior Accountant, your responsibilities will include financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. This Senior Accountant role is located in Chesterfield, Virginia.

　　Major responsibilities

　　Successfully collaborate with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures, controls and provide support on special requests when necessary

　　Offer involvement in various department-wide initiatives

　　Continuously analyze current automation of the accounting and reporting process and present improvement suggestions

　　Perform monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP

　　Analyze financial information and report on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)

　　Provide Balance Sheet account reconciliations

　　Delegate resources to Ad-hoc projects as necessary

　　Prepare monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting

　　Assist in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors Requirements - Well-founded grasp of general ledger

　　Strong familiarity with Monthly Financial Statements

　　Proven knowledge of Prepare Balance Sheets

　　Balance sheets experience highly desired

　　Foundational knowledge in Prepare Financial Statements

　　Command of Financial Statement

　　Comprehensive knowledge of financial statement preparation

　　Great written, verbal, and interpersonal skills

　　Knowledgeable of ERP systems

　　Skill with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required

　　5+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience

　　The ideal candidate will be highly-skilled with exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills

　　Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment

　　BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred

　　Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued

　　Be detailed, flexible, and organized

　　Exceptional time management skills preferred

　　Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines

　　Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

　　Deep understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance
