JOB REQUIREMENTS: Classification Level: EP JOB SUMMARY: The SpeechTherapist is a professional position that is responsible to provide arange of on-site and off-site speech therapy to special needs infantsand toddlers that are enrolled in the Early Intervention Program. Thisposition will provide services that promote developing communicationskills through the treatment of language disorders. TYPICALRESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Screen and evaluate infants and toddlers toidentify the nature and extent of communication disorder, includingdelays in receptive and expressive language, articulation errors andfluency disorders. 2. Review medical records to assist with evaluationof communication and language problems. 3. Develop treatment plans forindividuals based on their speech therapy assessment common challengesinclude cleft pallet, hearing loss and oral dysfunction 4. Provideindividual, group and/or telehealth services based on that individual\'stherapy plan and family stated outcomes. 5. Document evaluation results,plan for treatment and progress toward stated goals 6. Make referrals toother professional services for treatment of communication skill delaysas necessary. 7. Coach parents and caregivers in recommended techniquesto facilitate communication and language development. 8. Recommendappropriate adaptive techniques and equipment for individuals tocommunicate more effectively, this may include sign language,communication boards or electronic aids. 9. Provide children and theirfamilies with educational instruction regarding communication disorders.10. Travel as needed to provide offsite service. 11. Responsible for thesafety of all persons served by this position. 12. Complete assignedstrategic action plan work activities and annual performance growth plan13. Participate in required amount & type of staff development activityas specified by annual staff performance plan including engaging in aprocess of continuously improving cultural proficiency and the abilityto work with a diverse population. 14. Perform other duties as assignedby supervisor. OCCASIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Assist in the developmentand presentation of in-service and child education programs. 2.
